Renewal and optimization of PUK's IT infrastructure
atrete is responsible for the structured tendering and evaluation of new IT workstations and IT infrastructure platforms for PUK.
The Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich PUK is a renowned institution that has been treating patients since 1870 and fulfills its service mandate for the city and region of Zurich. With around 2600 employees, the PUK offers comprehensive psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care for all age groups. Its close links with the University of Zurich, its commitment to teaching and research and its innovative approaches to the treatment of mental illness make PUK a leading institution in the field of psychiatry.
(PUK) was faced with the challenging task of renewing both the workstation systems for around 1900 workstations and the ageing storage, backup and compute systems as part of a lifecycle process. The aim was to find a reliable partner for both areas who would not only provide up-to-date and cost-effective solutions, but also meet the clinic's high requirements and expectations.
atrete took over the complete coordination of the submissions, assisted PUK in evaluating the bids and ensured that all of the clinic's requirements were implemented precisely. At the beginning, the requirements were recorded and analyzed in close coordination with the clinic's various departments. This resulted in a tailor-made catalog of requirements that covered both the technical and organizational needs of PUK. A technical sample specification was developed for the workstation systems, which served as a blueprint for the APS devices and ensured a high level of comparability between the offers. At the same time, this specification enabled flexible adaptation to future technological developments.
A central element of the project was the definition and monitoring of test setups. Different hardware components and configurations were tested directly on site at the PUK to ensure that they met the requirements and could be seamlessly integrated into the existing environment. atrete monitored this process closely and also involved representatives from the business to ensure the broadest possible evaluation of the test devices.
atrete's scope of services included the preparation of detailed specifications for both submissions, the implementation and moderation of the tenders, the evaluation of the bids based on transparent criteria and support with the final selection and contract design. Thanks to this comprehensive support, PUK was able to ensure that the procured solutions were optimally tailored to its needs in technical, economic and organizational terms.
The specifications developed formed the basis for the two submissions. atrete carried out these submissions, answered the providers' questions together with PUK and evaluated the bids received in a transparent and comprehensible manner. Thanks to this comprehensive support, PUK was able to ensure that it received the best possible solution for both the workstation systems and the new storage, backup and compute platforms.
The result: thanks to atrete's professional support, PUK was able to procure customized solutions for its workstation systems as well as for the storage, backup and compute platforms. The new systems not only offer a high degree of flexibility and scalability, but also meet the highest requirements in terms of security and cost-effectiveness.
